Abstract

The article gives details of mine drainage systems’ significant task - ensuring the prevention of flooding of the mining enterprise. The safety, efficiency and uninterrupted operation of a mining enterprise largely depend on the reliability of the drainage systems operation. Along with this, the application of a reliable and energy-saving method for the electric drive of mine drainage systems is examined. It is shown that in many mining enterprises, open and underground mining is characterized by an extensive water inflow. In practice, drainage systems are operated in accordance with water inflow variation. To control fluid movement speed in pumps, it is recommended to utilize an electric drive system: thyristor frequency converter - asynchronous motor with short-circuit rotor.
