The article examines the artistic and functional expression of celestial symbols – the sun, the moon, the star, night and day – in the lyric poetry and narrative poems of the Uzbek poet Usmon Nosir (1912–1944). Drawing on the collection “Ertani sevinib kut!..” (2021) and volume two of his “Selected Works” (1970), the study applies mythopoetic and semiotic methods. Five core functions of celestial symbols are identified: cosmological, anthropomorphic-portrait, socio-historical, autopsychological, and prophetic-tragic.Downloads
