Abstract
This article provides feedback on the content, criteria and level of formation of linguistic competence of future teachers studying in pedagogical areas. In particular, it provides recommendations on the advantages of using modern methods of forming their linguistic competence on the basis of modular training of professional skills and abilities in teaching their professional vocabulary in English.
