Abstract

The article discusses the key provisions of the theory of speech acts. The author traces the formation of the theory of speech acts as a science. Presented the main classifications and models of speech acts. The author offers an extended view the concept of speech act. A speech act is interpreted as the production of a specific sentence for realization of a certain communicative intention in certain communication conditions.
