MORTALITY OF RED FIRE ANT (SOLENOPSIS INVICTA) AS AFFECTED BY DIFFERENT CONCENTRATION OF WOOD VINEGAR

Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the mortality of ants as affected by different concentrations of wood vinegar. The study was conducted at President Ramon Magsaysay State University, San Marcelino, Zambales, Philippines. Completely Random Design (CRD) was used in this study with four treatments.The four (4) treatments were as follows: Treatment 1 (25%) concentration of wood vinegar (Positive Control); Treatment 2- 50% concentration of wood vinegar; Treatment 3 (75%) concentration of wood vinegar and Treatment 4 (100%) concentration of wood vinegar. Each treatment has one hundred (100) samples each and was replicated thrice.It is concluded that the higher concentration of wood vinegar, the faster reaction on the mortality of red fire ants compared to the control in 50-minutes duration.
