Abstract

In 2012, a new Global Strategic Plan for Measles Control began. However, it has not been possible to achieve the elimination of measles or maintain the achieved status at the regional level, and in recent years there has been an alarming increase in the number of cases of measles and deaths from it around the world, while sometimes cases of importation of infection in the presence of even small groups of unvaccinated people lead to the occurrence of large outbreaks of the disease. The article describes some of the epidemiological features of measles infection in Uzbekistan at the present stage.
